Judith’s former career as a professional social worker had occasionally given her the opportunity to work with bereaved families, and she had always been interested in the field of bereavement support. Her interest in the role of the funeral director grew, and she decided to change career and learn how to care for people who have died and their families directly.
During 2014 Judith spent time working with both large national funeral directors and small independent businesses. She underwent training with GreenFuse in funeral directing and received training in home care of people whose families want them to remain at home. She shadowed a number of highly regarded funeral professionals and attended a number of workshops and supplementary courses before feeling ready to launch her own business. Subsequently Judith has gained both the Certificate and Diploma in Funeral Services, qualifications gained through studying and assessment with the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
Angela is a qualified funeral director with many years’ experience in both large corporate funeral companies and independent funeral businesses. Angela holds the NAFD Diploma in Funeral Directing and is an examiner for the industry organisation. Angela has proficient skills in all aspects of funeral care.
Judith and Angela work alongside each other to enable Dandelion Farewells to provide comprehensive professional care for families.
Clare has spent several years working closely with bereaved families in her role at a local natural burial ground, sharing sensitively the process of arranging a funeral and gently guiding families.
In addition to her role at Dandelion Farewells, Clare is also training with the group ‘Living Well, Dying Well’, to support people in end of life care.
Jo is a former primary school teacher; she has an interest in supporting young families and brings extensive experience of working with families in sensitive situations. Jo has excellent skills in planning and communication, which have already been invaluable within the team. Since joining Dandelion Farewells, Jo has taken a particular focus on the delicate area of baby and infant loss, with Dandelion Dreams.
We are committed to the personal development of each team member, to benefit the care Dandelion Farewells can offer to the families we support. We maintain an interest in current training opportunities and participate whenever possible.
